In the year 2010 I traveled to Peru with a partner that had extensively traveled there for spiritual teachings. My exposure to shamanic practices were very limited and not a path I was familiar with. Our first destination was to join a ceremony outside of Iquitos to experience "Plant Medicines". I found myself sitting in a Maloca (ancestral log house) deep in the Amazon with a dark brew before me. I did not know what to expect but allowed myself to be open to the experience. The brew I was to drink was called "Ayahuasca". Sitting with a group of people and a medicine man that was singing the most unusual songs (icaros), the energy started shifting profoundly. I remember seeing shadows moving in an out of people's bodies and the colors being so vibrant. Other worldly spirits were all around. I kept myself in an energetic bubble just observing this most unusual phenomena. A voice outside of myself told me to raise my vibration for I was in the lower vibrational fields of those around me. Once I did this I moved from the heavy dense energy into a much higher vibrational dimension. It was so beautiful, I felt as though I was sitting on the edge of infinity. This was the place I met Aya (Ayahuasca) for the first time. She was a beautiful infinite being.
Aya was my first and greatest teacher/mentor in working with the plant spirits. She would guide me during ceremonies on how to assist others during their journeys. Their bodies would sometimes appear translucent, she would then instruct me on what needed to be done to bring the body into balance. She also taught me how to protect and keep sacred space clear of any malevolent energies. Her teachings were profound and always with gentle guidance. I have worked in many ceremonies with her instruction and the results for others have been exceptional.
We then traveled to Cuzco and eventually found a place to live in the village of Yucay located in the Sacred Valley. It was here that I would have my next experience with another master teacher plant called Huachuma. Again, I connected to the spirit of the medicine and became the student. It was to be a journey of my own healing and learning how to work with the Andean medicine spirits in helping others heal at a Huachuma Center above Cuzco.
Part of my training involved sitting for 10 days with the medicine in the Inca Terraces in Yucay. Through this process my past was revealed to me in great detail. Every person that had been an influence in my childhood and adulthood was brought to the forefront of my consciousness. I was witnessing my life's journey. The spirit of Ayahuasca discussed how people and places influenced my decisions and perceptions throughout my life. Nine days of sometimes painful review was followed by the 10th day of choices. I was asked if I wanted to hold on to my history or release it. I realized it wasn't just about releasing and forgetting the events but coming to a place of deep forgiveness for myself and others. Through all the tears and revelations I was finally ready to let go of the pain and disappointments so that I could free myself to create a different reality. One of acceptance and love.
Today, I work with a diverse array of plant medicines, each carrying its own unique personality and qualities. These sacred allies provide me with guidance and insight, allowing me to support others on their personal journeys of healing and expansion. Together, we contribute to the profound transformation unfolding on this beautiful soul planet, Gaia.
My work continues as a teacher, mentor, and facilitator, dedicated to assisting others in embracing their growth and walking their path with clarity and purpose.
